Louis Vuitton customer data leaked

The renowned fashion house Louis Vuitton recently confirmed that it was the victim of a security incident that affected its division in South Korea. The attack resulted in unauthorized access to personal data of some of its customers, although no financial details were compromised.

According to the company, a third party managed to temporarily infiltrate its systems on June 8, 2025. However, it was not until July 2 that the breach was detected.

Louis Vuitton has already notified the South Korean authorities and is cooperating in the investigation.

Data breach at luxury brands: a global alert

This event is not isolated. The cybercriminal group known as ShinyHunters is suspected to be behind this and other recent attacks against luxury brands. Although arrests of suspected members were reported in France in June, some sources indicate that the real perpetrators may still be operating.

In addition to Louis Vuitton, other brands under the same conglomerate have been affected in South Korea during 2025, such as Christian Dior and Tiffany.

This situation reflects a worrying trend: the increase in cyberattacks targeting companies in the luxury sector, which handle large amounts of sensitive data.

The importance of cybersecurity for global companies.

Louis Vuitton has offered free identity monitoring services to affected customers, a practice that can be taken as an example in Mexico. Companies that operate online, especially those that handle their users' personal information, must constantly reinforce their security measures and establish incident response protocols.

This case highlights the urgency of investing in cybersecurity as a strategic priority.

In Mexico, many companies still underestimate the risk of suffering a data breach, despite the fact that cyber-attacks in the country have grown steadily in recent years.
